The second NRL club we are taking a look at is the South Sydney Rabbitohs.
Attendance is very much a roller coaster of ups and downs, peaking in 2013 and never quite making it back there. The Rabbitohs are seeking to address this by moving away from the hated Accor Stadium to the newer Allianz Stadium, however the NSW Government is actively preventing this due to a binding contract.
South Sydneys Memberships peaked in 2015 – one of the leagues longest member records, but held the line during the pandemic and beyond.
They do make money off their members though, the revenue per member numbers are pretty good, and at record highs. These numbers also tell us they have a high number of season ticket holders.
Off field the club continues to go great, with revenue hitting a record 43m in 2023.
Record sponsorship revenue of 11.8m was achieved in 2024, record grants (18m) and gate reciepts (3.8m) in 2023, while the record membership revenue (4.9m )was in 2015.
