From 7PR – The First Test at Optus Stadium in Perth, which saw Australia defeat England in a
spectacular two-day test, bowled an average total TV audience of 1.17 million, which was
up 60% on last year’s First Test between Australia and India, and higher than the start of
the last Ashes series.
Across the two days, an average of 190,000 people tuned in to each session on 7plus
Sport, which was up 238% on last year. Day 2, Session 3 was watched by a record cricket
audience on 7plus Sport, with 245,000 tuning in.
From Foxtel – The First Test Match of the Australia v England 2025/26 Ashes Series has broken records on Kayo SPORTS recording the highest average streaming audience of any Test Match in its history.
As Australia looked to close out the Match, Day 2 was the most streamed Test Day ever. The Day achieved 90 million minutes streamed on Kayo SPORTS.

From 7PR – Australia’s second showdown with England in The Ashes bowled over cricket fans, with
8.06 million tuning in across Seven and 7plus Sport over the past four days.
The Gabba Test scored an average national total TV audience of 1.21 million, up 6% on
the First Test and up 36% on last year’s Second Test between Australia and India. It was
Seven’s highest rated Gabba Test ever, as well as the highest rated Day-Night Test. While
on 7plus, 194,000 tuned in on average to each session, which was up 178% on last year.
The highest rated session was Day 4, Session 2, which was the #1 program in all people,
25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers on Sunday, with a national reach of 2.51 million
and a total TV audience of 1.54 million*. The session also claimed a record Test audience
on 7plus Sport, averaging 238,000.

From Seven – The Adelaide Test, which saw Australia retain the Ashes, scored an average national total TV audience of 1.08 million, up 35% on last year’s Third Test between Australia and India. On 7plus Sport, 181,000 tuned in on average to each session across the five days, which was up 199% year-on-year. Day 5 had a total reach of 3.46 million, with a total TV audience of 1.28 million.* The highest rated session was Day 4, Session 3 (Saturday), which was the #1 program in all people, 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers, with a national reach of 2.91 million and a total TV audience of 1.48 million, up 94% year-on-year. Day 2, Session 3 (Thursday) was also the #1 program in all people, 25 to 54s, 16 to 39s and grocery shoppers, reaching 2.7 million, with a total TV audience of 1.32 million, up 2%.

FTA Coverage
The Ashes delivered a winning innings for the Seven Network, reaching 14.2 million Australians across the series and producing a record-breaking start to summer on both Seven and 7plus Sport.
The 2025-26 Ashes series is the highest rated Test series ever on Seven, with an average total TV audience of 1.19 million across the five Tests, up 12% year-on-year. Each session had an average 196,000 streaming on 7plus Sport, up 103%.
Seven recorded its highest rated Test ever during the Boxing Day Test, which had an average total TV audience of 1.52 million, up 16% on last year. On average, 246,000 people streamed each session on 7plus Sport, up 94% on last year.
Day 1, Session 3 of the Boxing Day Test was the highest rated session ever on Seven, reaching 3.4 million nationally and securing a national audience of 1.84 million, up 18% year-on-year. It posted a record cricket streaming audience on 7plus Sport, with 299,000 tuning in, up 112% year-on-year.
The Fifth Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, headlined by Jane McGrath Day, reached more than 7.4 million Australians across the five days. It had a total TV audience of 1.14 million and 193,000 on 7plus Sport (up 27% year-on-year).
Foxtel
The 2025/26 Ashes series has recorded the highest average audience of any Test series on Kayo SPORTS, and across all Foxtel Group platforms.
The series, which saw Australia win 4-1, also recorded 1.3 billion minutes streamed, making it the most streamed ever on Kayo SPORTS, and across all Foxtel Group platforms.
Kayo SPORTS audiences soared 31% when compared to the Australia v India series in 2024/25. When compared to the last Ashes series on Australian soil in 2021/22, Kayo SPORTS audiences were up 112%.
