1. Eliminate Your Post-Workout Recovery Issues
Do you often deal with debilitating muscle cramps that make it impossible to properly progress when it comes to strength and endurance? Are you experiencing mental fog and confusion after intense sweating that can last for more than a couple of hours? You are not the only one. Millions of other Australians are currently dealing with the same thing. We live in a hot country, we all tend to sweat a lot, and chances are, just like me, you are not very efficient when it comes to replenishing your lost electrolytes.

Why Do You Need the Best Electrolytes in Australia?
Two words: Post-workout. If you are training hard, you are involved in endurance sports, you lose a significant % of your body weight, via sweating, with each training session, or if you are not exactly acclimatized to working out in extreme heat the best electrolytes available in our country might be the only, cost-efficient way to reduce your cramps, fatigue and eliminate the potential drops in your physical performance.
Sweating Is Normal
In fact, it is the only way to keep ourselves cool. That said, at least in Australia, staying in the sun for too long can make you lose more sodium than you think and impact both your maximum physical output as well as your mental cognition. It’s not a joke. It’s all fun and games until you start getting dizzy because you didn’t hydrate properly, or until you start getting heart palpitations because your blood’s Mg levels have dropped. Electrolyte supplements, therefore, can and should be an option to consider.
2. Electrolytes Sachets Are Useful Even if You Don’t Work Out
Going for the best electrolytes in Australia is an option even if you are not currently involved in high-intensity sports or if you are a regular gym goer. Electrolytes sachets are mostly used by people involved in high-intensity physical activities, but what if you are a labourer and you are outside all day? Or do you regularly get dehydrated even in mild climates? Electrolyte supplements are fantastic to recover after hangovers; they are required if you are currently living in a hot and humid climate, and they are great if you want to recover faster after illness.

Yes, if you eat a balanced diet, you drink enough water, and you don’t put yourself in an environment in which sweating is a real concern, electrolytes sachets are a bit of an overkill. But how many of us can actually predict our sweating patterns beforehand? Personally, I always have some of the best electrolytes available around, in my everyday gym bag. And I carry that gym bag in my car. You never know when you can end up in a situation in which faster electrolyte replenishment is a necessity.
3. Supplements to Consider While Travelling
Australia is a nice country, but we all need a change of pace from time to time. Are you considering travelling in a country with a hot and humid climate, and do you want to be prepared for the unexpected? Then, you should follow my lead.
There are two things that are never missing from my everyday travel bag.
- some probiotics and
- a couple of electrolytes sachets
The probiotics are self-explanatory, right? It’s likely that you will get in contact with some foods that will put your digestive system into overdrive.
But What About the Electrolytes Sachets?
Well, when you are travelling, you like to keep yourself active, right? You probably have no issues in walking for hours on end, and you might even, unwantedly, take a step back when it comes to hydration. In fact, even the very act of travelling by aeroplane is enough to make you dehydrated, as cabin air is exceptionally dry and it can make you lose fluids faster than usual.
Electrolyte supplements are perfect to have with you when travelling in places known for their high heat and humidity. Plus, they are cheap and easy to carry. At home, I typically prefer to go for electrolyte drinks. They are tasty, cost-effective and widely available. But they also took up more space in my bag. So, when travelling, I typically choose to go for sachets. They are small enough to fit in my hand luggage, and so far, I’ve never encountered any issues at an airport because of them.
4. Avoid Being Dehydrated or Feeling Weak

Everybody reacts a bit differently to electrolytes. In my case, I know I need to up my electrolyte intakewhen I’m experiencing persistent muscle cramps, eye twitching, and I am also lightheaded. Usually, after I drink an electrolyte supplement, these unwanted symptoms of dehydration disappear for me in less than 30 minutes. But my girlfriend, for example, typically has it worse than I do. For her, dehydration symptoms also include severe headaches, heaviness, and confusion. She just sweats more intensely than I do.
In her case, electrolyte drinks and supplements take effect in around 45 minutes or so. Is the difference massive? Not always. If you are sore after heavy workouts, you will likely still experience some muscle fatigue even after the electrolytes do their thing. But while electrolytes are not exactly magic, and they can’t suppress 100% of the discomfort you feel, they should at least have a positive effect on your well-being and make it easier to progress with your daily tasks or workout routine.
5. Maintain Your Physical Balance and Body Well-Being
Electrolytes cannot provide you with a supplementary energy boost, like caffeine. Instead, they can restore the electrically charged minerals you’ve already lost, restore sodium, potassium and magnesium levels to normal values, and make you feel normal. Personally, I can’t imagine working out or travelling abroad without them. Sure, they work differently for everyone, but in my case at least, I can truly see a difference. Is it substantial? No, leg day is still kicking my butt. However, electrolytes overall were one of the main reasons for my current physical progress.
