The Sunday Heraldsun reports that Melbourne will host an in season NFL game at the MCG in October 2026 after months of backroom dealing by the Allan Government.
The match is expected to be a day game to maximise tv coverage in the US.
According to News Ltd, it is expected to be the first of three matches spread over several years. The deal would see Victoria as the sole host for the NFL matches, ruling out Sydney.
It was reported in August that NFL officials had visited the MCG to determine its suitability for use as an ANFL ground.
Of note, the 2026 match will be played during the Rugby league World Cup.
