Season 2024 saw the Sydney Swans record an underlying operating profit of $684,437 for the financial year ending October 31, 2024.
After allowing for non-cash depreciation and amortisation relating to the Basil Sellers Richard Colless Centre, the club recorded a statutory loss of $4,676,272.
Due to strong support from the club’s members, partners, and generous donors, the Swans remain debt free as of October 31, 2024.
The relatively small cash profit achieved by the club, in a year highlighted by significant on-field success, highlights the challenges faced operating in the Sydney market.
Key items contributing to the financial outcome for the year include:
- Operating income increasing year-on-year by 19% to $73.2million
- 75,152 Sydney Swans members, which is a new club record
- Average home game attendances of more than 38,000 at the SCG
- Membership and match day revenue of $9m (up from $18.2in 2023)
- Strong on-field performance highlighted by 17 home-and-away match wins, two home final wins and a Grand Final appearance in the men’s competition
