Saturday night saw 90,307 attend the MCG for the Wallabies v British and Irish Lions. This was a record crowd for a Lions test in Australia, and the highest Test crowd for rugby union in Australia in at least 20 years.
The match attracted 804,000 viewers to the Nine network, including 9NOW – its best audience in the post COVID era. Game 1 attracted 803,000 viewers when consolidated (including timeshifting etc). Data for STAN is unavailable.
In the AFL, The Western Derby and the South Australian Showdown attracted a combined audience oif 365,000 on Seven. No data is available for the earlier Queensland derby.
