[AFL] 2007-2011

The 2005 AFL Annual Report Indicated that Channel 9 had submitted a bid entirely on its own for all 8 matches at a rate 50% higher than the rights were currently worth.

In March 2005, the Seven Network advised the AFL that it would be joining with Channel 10 in its bid for the rights, and the AFL had agreed to allow the partial transfer of the “last rights” arrangement to Ten.

The AFL indicated it had accepted that Bid and was awaiting the Seven-Ten consortiums reply (Seven having last rights).

In January 2006, the Seven and Ten networks advised the AFL that they would match the Nine offer, worth up to 780 million for 5 seasons.
