26/7/24 – Friday Night Sport Crowds and TV

It was a big Friday night with the AFL, NRL and the Olympics opening ceremony.

In Round 20 of the AFL, 40,500 people gathered at Marvel Stadium for the Blues v Power. This takes the Blues home average to 56,978 for the season, including a home average of 41,473 at Marvel.

The match rated 650,000 on Seven with a reach of 1.864 million. This is ahead of the season average for Sevens Friday coverage at a 640,000 average with an average reach of 1.884 million.

In Round 21 of the NRL, the Warriors faced the Tigers at Go Media Stadium in front of 23,976. This takes the Warriors home average this season to 24,721 if you include Magic Round (and 22,970 if you dont), while their home average at Go Media Stadium is 23,686,

In the late NRL game, the Eels took on the Storm at Commbank with 11,082 in attendance. This takes the Eels home attendance average to 17,782 for the season, and an average of 18,525 at Commbank Stadium.

Friday Night NRL rated 574,000 on Nine, including 65,000 on 9NOW. This is just ahead of the season average for Friday night at 562,000, with an average reach of 1.352 million.
