Origin II is now the second highest average rating program for the year, behind Origin I with an average audience of 3.263 million viewers, including 739,000 on 9NOW. The match reached 5.192 million people according to VOZ.

It was the number one program for the night in Sydney (902,000) and Brisbane (538,000), and number two in Adelaide (86.000) and Perth (116,000). The Melbourne audience was 258,000.
Origins 3.263m rating on Nine is down 5% on Origin 1, it is however the highest rating Origin II since 2017. The series to date has a cumulative average of 6.699m – up 1.32% in the first 2 matches in the 2023 series., and the highest figure since Origins 1&2 in 2017 topped 7m.
The 9NOW audience was up 31% year on year. The percentage of viewers watching on BVOD is the highest yet at 22.65% (up from 22.12% for Origin 1) – 5 years ago this figure was just 3% of the total audience. The BVOD audience was the second highest rating live program on 9NOW, and the third highest of all time.
