NRL Round 15, Crowds and Ratings

With Origin in temporary abeyance, attention turns to a full round of matches beginning with Thursdays Sharks /Dolphins clash at the soon to be renamed Pointsbet Stadium in front of 8,035 people. The Sharks average 11,550 at partially renovated Pointsbet Stadium.

The match rated 560,000 on Nine including 66,000 on 9NOW and a reach pf 1.404 million. The match rated an additional 246,000 on Kayo with a reach of 420,000.

Friday NRL featured 2 matches. The early game saw the Raiders take on the Cowboys at GIO Stadium in front of 9,671, giving the Raiders a season average of 14,359. The match was watched by 307,000 on Kayo with a reach of 553,000.

The late game saw 12,207 turn up for the Rabbitohs and Broncos at Accor Stadium (although we note this number is identical to an earlier season crowd at the same venue), leaving the Rabbitohs with a season average of 16,038.

Friday Night NRL rated 602,000 on Nine with 73,000 on 9NOW. The match rated 320,000 on Foxtel streaming with a reach of 581,000.

Super Saturday featured three matches in Sydney and Auckland. The early game saw 8,147 at Leichardt for Wests and Titans, leaving the Tigers with an average of 14,657 for the season.

Over in New Zealand, the Warriors continued their stellar run of crowds with 24,495 fans turning out for their game against the Storm. The Warriors now average 23,798 for the season.

Warriors/Storm was the highest rating game on Fox streaming with 365,000 watching on Kayo et al, with a reach of 645,000.

Finally, the Eels took on the Roosters at Commbank Stadium in front of 20,072 people, giving them a season average of 20,242. The match was watched by 347,000 on Kayo with a reach of 581,000.

Sunday featured 2 matches with 17,187 fans packing into 4 Pines Park for the Sea Eagles and Dragons. Manly now average 16,111 at home for the season.

In the rounds final match, an amazing crowd of 27,966 turned out to McDonald Jones Stadium to see the Knights take on the Panthers. The knights now average 20,131 for the season at home.

The match rated 442,000 on Nine including 47,000 on 9NOW with a reach of 1.238m.

The round was attended by 127,780 at an average of 15,973. The season has been attended by 2.264 million at an average of 19,524. Seven clubs have an average attendance of over 20,000.
