Sunday promised to be a big day for the AFL and it delivered some big crowds for the league in Sydney and Melbourne.

In Sydney, the Swans faced off against the Cats with a beautiful crowd of 44,714 at the SCG – the Swans 4th highest crowd at the SCG ever. The match was shown in NSW exclusively by Seven, and no data is available.

In Melbourne, traditional rivals the Blues took on the Bombres in front of a massive crowd of 88,510 at the MCG. This is the second highest crowd between the two sides ever. It was the 6th time this season the league had reached more than 80,000 at a match, with the Blues featuring in four of the,

The match was shown nationally by Seven to an average audience of 532,000 with a reach of 1.65 million.

Sunday NRL featured in Melbourne and Sydney, with the Storm facing the knights in front of a healthy 20,269 at Aami Park. Later that day, the Panthers would host the Sea Eagles at Bluebet Stadium in front of a great crowd of 20,101.

The latter game was Nines broadcast game of the day, drawing an average audience of 452,000, including a BVOD audience of 42,000 and a reach of 1.144 million.
