A record crowd of 48,613 has attended Origin I at Adelaide Oval, the best attendance for a Rugby League match in South Australia.
Rugby league’s season of record-breaking TV ratings has continued on State of Origin night. Channel Nine finished with its highest Origin audience since game one in 2018, attracting a viewership of 3.421m – up 300,000 on the game three decider last year.

Nine’s coverage of State of Origin Game I gave the network a soaring win with a 50.5% overall share on Wednesday night, as the match aired to almost two million metro viewers.
In Adelaide Origin I ratings up 40% from 84,000 in 2020 when it was last held at the Oval to 118k in 2023.
