Aleague – Ten/Paramount + 2021-2026
The A-league has announced that it has signed a $200 million, 5 year deal with the CBS Viacom for A-league and W-league matches on Ten and Paramount+.
- A-League live and free every Saturday night on 10 and 10 Play on demand. Every Saturday night during the season is Football Night on 10, with the A-League’s match of the round broadcast live at 7:30pm. The deal guarantees one A-League match each week, on Saturday nights, will be broadcast live on Ten’s main channel for the duration of the agreement, preceded by a magazine-style discussion show – ensuring a level of free-to-air coverage hitherto only dreamed of in the league’s 16-year history.
- All A-league free-to-air matches will also be simulcast on 10 Play.
- All other A-League matches will be shown on the brand new Paramount+.
- Paramount+ launches on Wednesday, 11 August for $8.99, with football fans and Club members given a special deal to access all games.
W-league – 10Bold/Paramount+ 2021-2026
- Westfield W-League live and free every Sunday afternoon on 10 Bold and 10 Play on demand. 10 Bold will be the new home of the Westfield W-League, with a match broadcast live every Sunday of the league.
- All W-league free-to-air matches will also be simulcast on 10 Play.
- All other W-League matches will be shown on the brand new Paramount+.
- Paramount+ launches on Wednesday, 11 August for $8.99, with football fans and Club members given a special deal to access all games.
Australian National Teams, FFA Cup – Ten/Paramount+ 2021-2024
10 ViacomCBS and Football Australia announce largest Socceroos and Matildas broadcast deal ever.
- Network 10 and Paramount+ to be the new home of National Teams football and the FFA Cup bringing more football to more fans providing unprecedented reach.
- New deal includes all Westfield Matildas and Socceroos matches outside of FIFA World Cup Finals plus the next four (4) seasons of the FFA Cup from Round of 32 matches onwards.
- A minimum of 16 Senior National Team matches over the term and the annual FFA Cup Final to be broadcast on Network 10.
- The agreement encompasses the media rights for all national teams (Socceroos, Westfield Matildas, Young Socceroos, Westfield Young Matildas, Joeys, and Westfield Junior Matildas) owned or controlled by Football Australia, as well as AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to Qatar, AFC Asian Cups, and other AFC tournaments until 31 December 2024.
- the agreement will also include coverage of the FFA Cup (from the Round of 32) on Paramount+ with the FFA Cup Final, to be broadcast on Network 10 each year.
- Extensive coverage of Australia’s National Teams and the FFA Cup (in addition to the A- League and Westfield W-League) will be available on 10, 10 Bold and 10 Play, as well as Paramount+, which will be available in Australia from 11 August, for $8.99 per month.
- The deal commences August 1st, 2021.
Asian Champions League – Tenplay
- Network 10 has confirmed that it will broadcast other Asian Champions League matches this season (2021) in Australia.
- every match will be shown live and free on 10 Play with Paramount Plus expected to eventually show the final in late November.
FIFA 2022 World Cup
FIFA 2023 Womens World Cup – Optus
Optus Sport has secured the exclusive broadcast rights to the FIFA 2023 Women’s World Cup for an estimated $US8million ($10.4 million), with plans to on-sell free-to-air rights to a TV network.
- Optus will stream all 64 World Cup matches live and produce programming, highlights, and other digital content as the host broadcaster.
- The 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup will be held from July 20 to August 20 across nine host cities in Australia and New Zealand with the final to be held at Sydney’s Stadium Australia.
- Optus customers can access the sport offering at no extra cost as part of almost every plan while non-Optus customers can subscribe for $14.99 per month.
UEFA Champions League, Europa Leagues – Stan 2021-2024
The three-year deal between Stan and the Union of European Football Associations gives the streaming platform rights to every match of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, UEFA Europa Conference League and UEFA Youth League as well as rights to the UEFA Super Cup.
It is understood the contract allows for key matches, such as the finals, to air on Channel 9.
Stan Sport is available for an additional $10 a month on top of a regular $10 basic Stan subscription. Its coverage of UEFA’s competitions will begin with on 12 August with the Super Cup match between Chelsea and Villarreal.
UEFA Europa qualifier matches featuring Scottish football clubs Celtic and Rangers following significant public interest around the games in Australia. The qualifiers for the Europa League sat outside of Stan Sport’s deal with UEFA, announced in June, to broadcast the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, Super Cup and Youth League.
EPL – Optus – 2015 to 2022
Optus took up up the rights to the EPL in 2015 and extended them in 2018, providing exclusive live coverage of every match for a further three seasons, from 2019/20 to 2021/22.
The telco announced the launch of a new direct-to-consumer subscription option, which will allow all Australian viewers to access Optus Sport for AUS$14.99 (US$11.28) per month via an app available from Google Play and the Apple App Store. This can be watched on mobile devices or on TVs via Apple TV and Chromecast devices.
UEFA Womens Champions League – DAZN 2021-2025
DAZN, the leading global sports streaming platform, has acquired global rights to broadcast the UEFA Women’s Champions League and has been awarded host broadcaster duties for the next four seasons, from 2021-25. The multi-year deal grants DAZN exclusive rights worldwide, with the exception of the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) – where rights do include clips and highlights – and China and its territories.
- As part of this landmark agreement, to further grow the sport, DAZN has also entered into a groundbreaking partnership with YouTube that will make the competition live and free for fans around the world for the first time
- For the first two seasons (2021-23), fans will be able to watch live and on demand all 61 matches from the group stage onwards on DAZN and free on DAZN’s YouTube channel.
- For the last two seasons (2023-25), all 61 matches will be live on DAZN while 19 matches will be made available for free on DAZN’s YouTube channel.
Serie A, LaLiga & Bundesliga, Carabao Cup, EFL, Ligue 1 – BeIN Sports via Foxtel/Kayo and Fetch/Optus

- BeIN holds rights in Australia to various soccer leagues and competitions including Italy’s Serie A, France’s Ligue 1, Germany’s Bundesliga, England’s EFL Cup and EFL Championship, the Scottish Premiership and North America’s MLS.
- Under the new agreement, Foxtel Sports retail customers will continue to have free authenticated access to the beIN SPORTS CONNECT app, providing even more live sports action, simply by using their Foxtel user-name and password to log-in.
J-league
Optus Sport has secured the exclusive Australian rights to Japan’s J.League competition for three years, effective from the 2020 season.
- The J.League commences in February and will run through until November, with up to four matches per round made available live and on demand to Optus Sport viewers.
K-league
The 2021 K-League season will be exclusively broadcast in Australia by up-and-coming entertainment streaming service Sports Flick.
Chinese Super League
Sports Flick are proud to announce the acquisition of the Chinese Super League Broadcast Rights for Australia till 2023. Australia’s newest OTT platform will broadcast two matches LIVE and Exclusive on the Sports Flick platform, along with a weekly highlights show.
Austrian Bundesliga
Sports Flick are proud to announce a multi-year TV rights deal in Australia with the Austrian top flight football competition, the Tipico Bundesliga.
- The exclusive rights deal, commences with the remaining three rounds of the 2020-21 Austrian Bundesliga season, the Championship Round, and the 2021-22 season.
- Sports Flick will show one marquee match per round of the Austrian Bundesliga for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.
CONCACAF Gold Cup

The UAE Pro League has announced the sale of digital broadcast right for its competitions for the seasons 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021022 to two new partners. Fanseat was awarded the rights in Europe and North America while Sportsflick has been given the exclusive digital broadcast holder in Australia and New Zealand.
