In another week of slow movement in the Australian sporting world, plans emerged for restarting the NRL in late May, with rumours the AFL could relaunch in June if it can only figure out how to do so. But here on television, there are some relatively small picking with replays and compilations and a video game version of real events, but hey when it’s all you’ve got, here we go.

Super Cars E-Series
Last nights edition of digital racing featured the tracks at Montreal and Watkins Glen, was well done from last weeks season high 76,000 and had its lowest rating of the series to date with 44,000 viewers tuning in on Foxtel, with a season average of 66,000.
NRL “The Greatest”
Nines highlight offering this week was ‘The Greatest: State of Origin moments” which rated 122,000 on Friday night (Sydney 76,000, Brisbane 46,000). The series has rated an average of 122,000 on Nines main channel.
AFL Replays
Friday nights AFL Replays featured a number of games in multiple cities on 7mate as Seven tailors its flashbacks to individual city populations in Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne.
Friday nights total metro audience was 74,000 – 36,000 watched Hawthorn v St Kilda (1999) in Melbourne on Friday night, while 17,000 watched North play Adelaide (2013) in Adelaide, and 21,000 watched Port take on West Coast in Perth. Sevens Footy Vault audience is averaging 98,000 on Friday nights.
On Saturday afternoon, the first of the modern era ANZAC Day clashes was broadcast to all three cities on 7s primary channel, rating 77,000 in the metro markets. (Melbourne 45,000, Adelaide 13,000 and Perth 19,000)
Saturday nights AFL replays had its lowest audience yet with 58,000 tuning in to see Collingwood v Essendon (Melb 36,000), with just 8,000 watching Port v St Kilda in Adelaide, and Freo v North rating 14,000 in Perth. Saturday night replay average to date is 62,000 on 7mate.
NFL
Overseas, ESPN reports record viewing for the NFL draft coverage this year. The league announced that the drafts ratings broke the previous record of 12.4 million viewers set in 2014. There was also an average audience of 8.2 million viewers on Friday night, up 40%, and an average audience of 4.2 million viewers on Saturday
