Not long after GWS said they were considering pokies as a means of boosting revenue, the Gold Coast Suns admitted they were considering the possibility as an option.
Gold Coast chief executive Travis Auld told the Herald Sun the club had formed a sub-committee to investigate outside investments.
“There is definitely a greater need to identify non-football revenue opportunities,” Auld said.
“There are very few clubs in the competition who can survive purely on football revenue, and certainly for us to be sustainable we need to generate some non-footy revenue streams.”
